The 4th International Meeting on Advances in Thermofluids (IMAT) 2011
About the Conference

The International Meeting on Advances in Thermofluids (IMAT) is a Tri-Southeast Asian Region initiative aimed at bringing together academicians, research scientists and students from all over the world. This would provide a platform to foster discussion and exchange ideas, experiences, challenges, solutions, new methods and techniques, and exploration of future research avenues in the fields of Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics and Thermal Engineering. The idea of having the IMAT was originally mooted by the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (UI).
This idea was fully supported by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS). This annual event will address recent developments and relevant issues and provides an opportunity for further collaboration between experts especially from the Asian region.UTM takes pride in being the host university for the 1st IMAT held in 2008. This was followed by the 2nd IMAT in Bogor, Indonesia in 2009 and the 3rd IMAT was held in the city state Singapore in 2010.
This year, UTM is given the honour to organize the 4th IMAT with UI and NUS as co-organizers. The 4th IMAT will be held in the historical city of Melaka. Following up on the success of the three previous IMAT, the 4th IMAT will be conducted as a full conference event. All papers will be peer reviewed and the conference proceeding will be published by American Institute of Physics (AIP) and indexed by major databases of scientific and engineering literature such as Scopus and Thomson Reuters.
